Die Boden-Haie, Ordnungscarcharhiniformes, sind die größte Ordnung von Haien. Mit mehr als 270 Arten schließen carcharhiniforms mehrere allgemeine Typen, wie der blaue Hai, catsharks, swellsharks, und Sandbank-Hai ein.

Mitglieder der Ordnungen werden durch die Anwesenheit einer nictitating Membran über das Auge, die zwei dorsalen Flossen, eine anale Flosse und die fünf Kieme-Schlitze charakterisiert.

Wie man

erwartet, werden die Familien in der Ordnung Carcharhiniformes revidiert; neue DNA-Studien zeigen, dass einige der traditionellen Gruppen nicht monophyletic sind.
